Plitvice Lakes was spectacular, and one day's time definitely wasn't too little to explore the full beauty of the Lakes. The nature was picturesque. Clear turquoise water, crisp reflections, fall colored forests, huge waterfalls and deep, hidden caves around every corner. At times I felt like in a rainforest and before I knew it again was surrounded by deciduous trees shedding their leaves.
There were different trails ranging from a few kilometers to 21km. We chose the 9km loop which took short of 3 hours. The paths were clearly marked and connected by buses, fairies boardwalks across the water. Even on a cold and cloudy Saturday it was packed with people, so it's best to come on a weekday.
